Cookbook earns dual crowns; first time ever from India
A billion people use Google play every month to download apps on Android. With over 700,000 developers and 2 million apps, it is one of the most competitive platforms on earth.
We are super excited to let you all know that Cookbook has scaled the pinnacle of success on Android. In June 2015, we became the first company from India to receive the Top developer badge on Google play, along with Flipkart. Yesterday, we earned the Editors’ choice badge, making Cookbook one of the best Android apps of all-time.
With this we’ve now become the first and only company in India to receive the dual crowns of Android.

The last 12 months, from Google I/O 2015 to today has been a fascinating journey for us at Riafy. We couldn’t have done it without our users, over 12 Million of them and counting. Thank you so much to each one of them for staying with Cookbook. There’ve been so many people, beacons of light, who have brightened our paths; thank you so much. You kept us going when the going was tough.
To the Almighty, we can’t thank you enough for the love and warmth you’ve showered upon us. If our journey has taught us anything, its about being humble in times of success and determined in times of failure.
We’ve always liked the words of Oscar Wilde. “Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery that mediocrity can pay to greatness”. We understand the fact that people are going to copy great work. But, imitations will always remain imitations. That is why, we don’t just build products at Riafy, we build experiences. Experiences that our users crave to have more. To all those who put in sincere effort to copy our app PIXEL-to-PIXEL, thank you.
To all the developers out there:
6 people from a small town in south of India were able to build one of the best cooking apps in the world only because we believed in ourselves. Hardwork and constant innovation will always take you to great heights.
If we could do it, you can too.
